Amy Kozak
Chief Audit and Compliance Officer
Amy Kozak joined the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) as the Audit Director in November 2023 and her role expanded to Chief Audit and Compliance Officer in June 2025. In her role, Amy strives to provide meaningful insights that drive positive change. Before joining UCSC, she served as the Executive Director of Audit & Consulting Services at Western Washington University (WWU). Prior to Higher Education, Amy worked in various industries, including telecommunications, financial services, and public accounting. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Tulane University, with a specialization in Strategic Management and Innovation, and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of West Florida. Amy’s professional qualifications also include being a Certified Internal Auditor.
Amy is also a longstanding volunteer who believes in giving back. She currently serves on the Executive Board for the Association of College & University Auditors (ACUA) and was previously the Standards & Best Practices (S&BP) Committee Chair, where she led over 90 members across the nation on eight committees, developing tools and resources to help empower other higher education internal auditors to perform their roles within their organizations. Additionally, Amy is a repeat presenter at the national ACUA conferences and was the recipient of the ACUA Rising Star Award in 2022. She has also previously served on the Executive Board and as past Vice President and President for the Institute of Internal Auditors, New Orleans chapter.
Beyond her professional life, Amy enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, indulging in her love for tacos, and taking her rescue pup, Evie, on outdoor adventures.

Margaret Huynh
Principal Auditor
Margaret Huynh joined the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) as a Principal Auditor in April 2025. She previously worked as a Manager in the Property Tax department for the City of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She also has over a decade of audit experience with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and Alberta Finance. While working at the Canada Revenue Agency, Margaret served as one of the Audit trainers and mentors, helping to onboard new hires. She also earned a National Innovation and Excellence award with the CRA for developing a training tool for the GST Fail to File program.
Margaret holds a Bachelor’s degree in General Studies from Athabasca University, having studied a combination of Science and Accounting classes. She earned her Certified Management Accounting designation and tied for top marks in the Province of Alberta. She also holds a Canadian Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation. Margaret has been involved in public speaking programs for over twenty years and has competed and placed in public speaking contests at the District level in Canada. She has served on the Executive Board of several clubs and charities, primarily as treasurer.
Margaret is excited to live in California to explore new gardening and hiking opportunities.
